Paolo 'the Alien' Cattani and Alassoft released the full version of Virtual Grand Prix 2 for MorphOS FREE OF CHARGE!

The MorphOS version, with many thanks to Genesi/Freescale for the free ODW development system, is now available for download free of charge for personal use, as a thank you to the whole MorphOS community!
Virtual Grand Prix 2 is a modern open-wheeled racecar simulator by Paolo Cattani and his staff at Alas Soft (www.alassoft.com), the long-awaited sequel of the original Virtual Grand Prix developed for the Amiga range of computers.
VGP2 uses industrial standards for the simulation of the mechanical components of the car, thus achieving a very high degree of realism in the handling of the virtual one-seater. You can try to beat the advanced Artificial Intelligence of computer-controlled cars or challenge your friends with the multiplayer online race feature.
The MorphOS version of Virtual Grand Prix 2 is free for personal use, and you can download it from the link below. However, if you think that the software deserves it you can make a small donation for it - consider it somewhat "sequel-ware", if we collect some money we'll probably port to MorphOS any further development of the game or sequels.

The MorphOS version requires MorphOS 1.4.5, the 3D Update and a supported gfx board.

Enjoy!

Yes. With the '1' view you have a more "realistic" view, where the head will try to follow the turns you're doing (giving the effect once upon a time called "virtual cockpit"), with '2' the head doesn't move, so to speak, and the cockpit is somewhat in a fixed position in front of you.
Pressing 3 more than once switch between rear view, front view, an higher rear view (in which you'll see the turns of the track with more anticipation - usually the preferred view of arcade players) and internal view. 4 gives the classic camera view. With other numeric keys you can display various informations in a semi-transparent fashion.

@bennymee
You don't need to find another unzip. As I told you, you just need to cd your games partition (or anywhere the VGP2 dir has been extracted) in a shell and type:
protect VGP2 +RWED all
Everything should work now.

@hooligan/dcs
You're the first one I heard of, at least. No problems here...

@all
Don't know if you have noticed, but the MOS version is compatible with additional tracks (you need to edit the VGP2/config/circuiti.config file, but it's easy) that have been created for the Mac and Win versions, and with the update pack that gives names, models and textures from the real 2004 F1 championship. Check here:

And check the old threads in the RaceSimCentral VGP2 forum.

Kind regards,
Andrea
