I suppose tomorrow some photos can be provided - please have patience. For Genesi it had been the priority to actually get them shipped as quick as possible than doing a photo session first. Therefore the original plan regarding a photo documentation of all steps of the shipping changed on a very short notice.

Well, it did not happen as we wanted it to. There were many problems. Here are a few examples that in a couple of months we will be able to laugh at, but in the last week have generated plenty of anxiety:
1. The PCBs were late by two days. The TNT shipment was delivered to DK not DE!
2. The wave soldering machine broke (and was patched together).
3. The SMD machines ran out of sync for the first day.
Thomas and Gerald and the whole team at DCE overcame all the problems to make it still happen.
All the boards ordered online went out today.
Reseller boards go out tomorrow with the exception of Vesalia who picked up the boards at DCE themselves.
There is MUCH more to the story, but we will discuss all that after the first boards arrive where they need to!
:-)

That's right. Therefore I don't expect any photos before tomorrow at the earliest, i.e. once the Genesi employee who handles the shipping to the resellers has got them.
The original plan had been to ship them directly from DCE, and in this case amiga-news.de would have done a photo report. That was what Raquel and Bill were pointing at last week.

Pegasos 2 is shipping : Comment 13 of 60 | Posted by Mr. Anonymous (209.234.160.76) on 23-Dec-2003 20:49:27 | I'll believe it when I see a photo of a Fedex/UPS/DHL/etc delivery guy handing off a PegII box to a customer on their doorstep.
Also, sounds like there might be a higher than norm/expected defect rate. Hope you did some comprehensive testing.

I got two words for you: MERCURY RETROGRADE. :)
>All the boards ordered online went out today.
Yes, but will they be returning, or find their way to some other destination? Hmm. Mercury Retrograde.
>Reseller boards go out tomorrow with the exception of Vesalia who picked up
>the boards at DCE themselves.
Expect hassles with deliveries, dates, numbers, addresses, and messages. Mercury Retrograde. :)

You hope. Mercury Retrograde :)

"Mercury, the Roman god of "communications and everyday routines" seldom gets much attention in astrology, except those times when he briefly turns retrograde in the transiting (moving) sky. Then Mercury gets blamed for just about anything (and everything) that might go "wrong.""
Mercury Retrograde is an expression to the phaenomenon when (observed from Earth) Mercury seems to move backwards on the sky.

Doesn't sound like anger to me, it sounds like "I'll believe it when I see it" which is fair enough given the delays.
Besides, why are you concerned that he is concerned about delivery of Peg II? ;-)
Some people! :)

The tone used doesn't leave much space to imagination: it was plainly accusatory, without any reason. I bet the guy is simply someone who's decide to divide the community in camps and to stay on the opposite camp.

You fail to get my point, although I admit it wasn't that obvious: I'm not concerned about _that_, what "concerns" me - if we really want to use this term - is that there are people who can't help to always say something unnice "just because".
> Some people! :)
Indeed.

Fabio, I wouldn't talk about "tone" if I were you: 99% of the time you get into trouble with the admins at AW it's because of your tone, not because of the factual stuff you write (which is mostly correct, once you get past all the emotionally charged words). You tend to word things in such a way that it just gets ppls blood pressure up, this guy is just doing the same. I can believe that you just write that way and don't intentionally troll, you should probably extend the same to him.

The difference is, that I talk about things that are happening or have happened, and thus my accusatory tone is there for a *reason*, whilst I don't see the reason for this guy to use an accusatory tone, as I already said.
The key word here is "reason".

More like lame excuses. Any one of those, or maybe two of them I can believe. All three is just too much, bbrv is starting to sound like a certain other Bill. The peg2s were on schedule (and rockin'?), then events tragically conspired against them. I call bullshit. I predict there will be another tragic mishap, or someone somewhere will forget to do something, and we won't be seeing any peg2s until mid-January at the earliest. In fact, I'm starting to think this is simply a ploy by bbrv to make ppl hold off buying an AmigaOne instead of a Pegasos... fairly standard tactic, pioneered by IBM back in the 70s. Get ppl to hold off buying the competition's product, promising a much better one that's just around the corner (but may not in fact even exist yet).
Sorry bill, your tactics might work on GenX kiddies, but some of us have been around for a lot longer (I still have a few cards from the ol' IBM 2501 I used back in the day). If you can fool these 20somethings more power to you, but I can see you coming a mile off, and I bet I'm not the only one.

Anger, maybe. Frustrations is like anger, I suppose. It's like these things are never going to ship. First is was PegII coming August 2004, that was at the beginning of the year. Then it was September, then October, orders were taken, no shipment. November, nope... December, yup definitly then. Almost Christmas, still not shipping and New Years is coming up. Did you see the post right after mine? Number 14, UPS not taking the shipment. It's like Genesi is cursed or incompetent, or conspired against or a combination of those. All together, sounds like bad karma. Which doesn't give me much hope for few board problems. There will probably be more bad news.
