Pixel32 is a multi platform paint and image processing program similar to Photoshop. In fact, chances are good that any Photoshop user should feel right at home with this software since it has pretty much the same buttons and gadget layout as Photoshop has.

The program is available for many operating systems in the x86 world, but the author has also had a Pegasos2 PPC computer since some time. After some hard work of porting it to PPC, the program is now running on this new architecture. As a result, it will soon be available for MorphOS, LinuxPPC, MacOS X, and the first MorphOS screenshots has already been released.

Read more at morphos-news.de (see comments for extra screenshot), and the official homepage pixel32.box.sk

This is terriffic news! It truly looks like a great piece of software! :-D

The licensing terms seems very favourable too, $32 is peanuts and you get a license for ALL the platforms! :-O

This may also be the first visible example of what the Freescale sponsored Open Desktop Workstation distribution programme (to support developers who wants to develop for PPC) can result in? May lots of other, similary successful cases follow this one!

:-)

Look at this picture:

http://pixel32.box.sk/shot/screen9.png

In the picture there is a text saying "Soon also for BeOS/Zeta PowerPC ;)"!

Since the PPC versions of this program is developed on a Pegasos II, does this mean that BeOS/Zeta is about to run on the Peggy?

I think this is an app that deserves the attention. A Photoshop
clone is now actually running on MorphOS! This is perhaps not as big
as if firefox or opera would run, but its damn close!

That software looks really good, especially for the price it is being offered at.

I hope to see some reviews popping up soon around the web of the full release version.

Maybe the author needs a system running OS4 too?

... and obviously also small parts in assembler BTW: "After 2 weeks of hard work, patches to compiler and complete rewrite of x86 assembly to PowerPC code".

It does not say that PowerPC code is assembly code, it could aswell be c or c++ compiled for PPC.

FreePascal Compiler.
Then again, he would probably need an AOne but I think that many Amiga users would send him their board for that development.
